Text Messaging Setup and Approval Process ![]()
Overview
To ensure a successful text messaging MMS launch, there are several requirements and timelines that clients should be aware of before submitting content for review and approval.
MMS Approval Timeline
MMS applications typically take approximately 4 weeks for carrier approval, though recent applications have taken up to 6 weeks. We recommend planning accordingly to avoid delays.
The timeline begins with development, and messages will ONLY start being created once the following has occurred:
- Content has been submitted to the Nuclavis team.
- The content has been reviewed and approved by the Nuclavis team.
Once the Nuclavis team provides final approval, the content will be sent to production. From content submission through implementation, the entire process can take approximately 6 weeks.
Common Setup Requirements
To help avoid delays, please ensure the following requirements are met before testing begins.
1. Provide Both a Past and Future Test Event
Clients must provide:
- One past event for testing historical participant scenarios.
- One future event for testing active participant scenarios.
2. Test Events Must Be Open
All test events should be configured to:
- Accept registrations.
- Accept gifts/donations.
Events that are not open may prevent proper testing and validation.
3. Enable Text Message Opt-In
The text message opt-in setting must be enabled on all test events.
Without an active opt-in, participants cannot be properly enrolled for testing, which may delay the process.
Common Causes of Delays
The most common blockers we encounter during MMS implementations include:
- Missing past or future test events.
- Test events not configured to accept registrations and gifts.
- Text message opt-in is not enabled on test events.
- Delays in content submission or approval.
- Content missing items
- Issues with subdomains
- Content has incorrect links
Recommendations
To keep your project on schedule:
- Submit content as early as possible.
- Verify all test event settings before testing begins.
- Ensure SMS/MMS opt-in is enabled.
- Provide both past and future test events during the project kickoff.
