Admin Check Deposit: Hyphenated Last Name Search

When using Admin Check Deposit, donors with hyphenated last names may require a specific capitalization format in order to appear correctly in search results.
This issue affects the “Donor” tile within the Admin Check Deposit workflow. If the donor’s last name is entered incorrectly, the donor may not appear in the search results, and you may receive an error message.
How to Search for a Donor with a Hyphenated Last Name
When searching for a donor in the “Donor” tile within Admin Check Deposit:
- Navigate to Admin Check Deposit.
- Select the “Donor” tile.
- Enter the donor’s last name in the search field.
- For hyphenated last names, ensure that:
- The first letter of the first name is capitalized.
- The first letter of both last names in the hyphenated name are capitalized.
Example:
For a donor with the last name Smith-Jones:
✅ Correct format:
- Smith-Jones
❌ Incorrect formats:
- smith-jones
- Smith-jones
- smith-Jones
